Uh oh... someone has found LE...

Actually you have a very good tutorial right under your nose... on your HD.

Go to programs/maxis/simcity...  and in the main file with all the other importantant files you should find an html LE tutorial / manual...  it is actually quite useful.

And, yes, the roads, ect, are generally overlay textures. One note, you should delete the original base texture before applying a new one, or you could get bleed through.

I thought as much... I haven't even looked through them like I said... thanks. It is always a leaning experience with LE and the other programs, as well some of the things in reader which I am going to have to know about for certain lots... :)

Thanks for the link! I missed the keyboard controls, so I had no clue how to manipulate the original items. As I said, last nite it was all trial and error, and some adventure. First I got stymied by the prog apparently freezing up after starting it - then I read in a forum, that this is 'normal', as it may take 20 minutes to read all the plugs. So I emptied my plugfolder and went from there. I guess that doesn't really make sense, so now I have to figure out, what plugs to keep in when patching a particular piece...

very nice lot.

To help all newbies, including me, can you make a tutorial?
just to learn the basics. for example, did you make a new texture? LE im only changing objects places, very basic.

a question.

when you start a rural area, you delete all other lots (like skycrappers, moden buildings, beach , and so on)??
Or is using sc4 selector? I had a problem with the program because I coudnt start the game, got error everytime.

No comparision to the original pink pavement version...   methinks you would be very pleased with this result.

Whoa, hold on :-))
I'm a complete noob to LE myself, this was the first thing I ever did with that. Long way to go before I can think of making any tutorial on this (I can only explain things well, if I have thorougly understood them, as well as having sufficient practise).
But no, I did not make a new texture, just chose one of the basics that are 'for sale' within LE.

:yahoo_think: Hmmm - I'm not sure I understand your question ... If I decide to make a rural area, I just start a fresh tile, zone for lots of agriculture and use only low and medium density commercial/residential. And load (parts of) my collection of agricultural/rural plugins, of course. But maybe you mean something else?

Still a good change for your first Lot modification. LE gets easier the more it is used...Unless you happen to be a dingbat hanging upside down in a cave, but I know your not as you make and create lovely towns and landscapes in the outskirts.

So how are you getting a mix of Maxis and MTP residential?    ... because the MTP Res mod changes every lot...

Well, I'm not sure how that works exactly, but I figure this:

1) MTP-Res suggests 2x5, 3x5 or 5x5, so I guess any other size is up for grabs;
2) I use another additional set (SG-Res), which is probably not caught by the MTP-Guardians.

The mtp res mod only blocks the maxis buildings.  If you have other sets of res, then they will grow.  At least that is how I understood it.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  I'm a rookie, but I was just reading about that for a small farming town I am working on.
